    Anxiety is real

Anxiety is real and not easy. Life is stressful enough add anxiety to the mix and life becomes overwhelming. Anxiety creates physical and emotional obstacles in your path. You might not realize the impact they have on your life, until to step back take a look. I have suffered from anxiety since childhood. It is a common problem in my family and it isn’t easy to tackle alone. My health journey helped me reduce the symptoms but the emotional background was the hardest part to tackle. The emotional background requires in depth reflection and reconnecting with your intuition in a deep manner. It can lead to panic attacks in random situations throughout your life. Tackling this pain was my final path in my holistic health journey. Its the most rewarding journey you will ever take because it opens up the gates for your creativity and future abundance. Learning to understand the underlying emotions and feelings that trigger your intense reaction. I have had several panic attacks this year and each one has been easier to combat. Learning your body, its reaction and the cause of the problem helps you transform your reaction and your future. Transformational regressions and hypnosis helped me reconnect with my soul and understand my inner child. The child that became scared so long ago and hid her emotions and feelings from the world. The little girl was hiding and bottling up her emotions throughout my life. These emotions built up into chronic illness and adult disease. It doesn’t have to be that hard to live a life you love and enjoy. If I would have known years ago the power of emotional healing my life would have been very different. It has been amazing to tackle the emotions head on and learn to transform my future. It is amazing to see that I am helping people transform their futures by tackling their emotional trauma. It transforms your physical and emotional health to potentiate all of your amazing abilities to succeed in life. I have one friend that I helped realize her childhood trauma was impacting her career path and now she is on the path to success. So I tell you, give it a try the consultation and first regression is free. You have nothing to lose except your pain. Give me a call. I have lived it and experienced the relief. You will be amazed.

    Transform Your Pain

My top challenge was fighting autoimmune disease, chronic pain, chronic fatigue and tons of health issues.  It took me years to tackle my illness and find strategies that help keep me feeling happy, healthy and alive.  I used to feel like a 60 year on in a 20 year olds body.  But I worked hard to find the nutrition, nutrients, stress relief, exercise and meditation to keep me on track.  I know feel healthier than I ever did.  I feel like a 20 year old in a 40 year olds body.  I learned that the path doesn’t have to be so hard or take so long.  There are very powerful ways to change your health, life and future. The hardest obstacle I faced in 2018 was overcoming the emotional awakening. I had suppressed my inner voice long ago in my childhood due to fear and other emotions. Its was an interesting revelation through hypnosis to identify the underlying beliefs that we create in our childhood. The last phase of the journey was the hardest. Filled with obstacles and symptoms as I learned my body again. It was interesting to see that symptoms can actually occur throughout your body. The symptoms can range from pain, illness and rashes. I have seen the symptoms come and go in a variety of ways. The symptoms could emerge and disappear quickly. Some symptoms take a lot of hard work to resolve and overcome. The best part of this journey has been identifying the strategies that are most effective for my body. Not everyone is the same and some techniques require a little practice to perfect.

Feeling your emotions and pain is a crucial step in truly transforming your life. Over the past few years I developed stretching routines that have relieved my symptoms of pain by increasing blood flow, lengthening muscles and increasing range of motion. I never though that adding your emotions into the mix would transform the results in such a powerful way. Transformational regressions have helped me connect to my past obstacles and realize the overwhelming feelings of today are actually unresolved feelings from the past. Tapping into the pain and truly feeling it throughout your body helps release it from your tissues.

This new chapter in my life has brought me to Transformational Stretch. Its a combination of transformation regressions, meditation and yoga stretch. It enables you to connect with your emotions and feelings deeply to release the pain. It has been truly beneficial these past few weeks. If you have ever suffered from panic attacks then you know how real and scary that pain can be. It is a tightness in your chest, a pressure that won’t resolve, intense feelings of fear, and often shortness of breathe. Realizing that these fears are deep rooted in the past helped me transform them into positive vibes. Truly sitting with those emotions and feeling the pain inside your body as you stretch, meditate and relax is cathartic. It takes time to process and cleanse the body of emotional pain but dedication and consistency helps you develop a plan of action that works for you. I am thankful for my pain and obstacles because they help me understand and connect with my clients in a deep spiritual way. My success in personal healing has created a pathway to transform the lives of those around me.

Success is fulfilling your destiny by helping others achieve their own success.  Success is about sharing your love and passion with the world to make this life better and happier.  It is about any little contribution you make to the world to improve the lives of those around you.  Success is feeling the love and joy others experience because you helped guide their path.  It is about helping others fight their trauma and abuse head on to live the life of their dreams.  My success comes from the success of my clients, friends and family.  If they succeed in their path and I helped paved the way with positivity then I am successful.

    Send Positive Vibes and Receive

Positivity pours out of some people and change the lives and energy of those around them. I happen to be one of those people that send out positivity but also absorb negativity from others. Sounds weird I know but in my final healing Journey of spiritual awakening and connecting with my inner intuition this gift has come to light. The problem with people that absorb the negativity or pain from others often experience it impacting their emotional and physical health. Learning to break that vicious cycle has not been easy but mysteriously the universe send you people and resources you need in your journey.

Coming from a background of Science based medicine it was an interesting transition to focus on my spiritual intuition was a process. I had been ignoring the messages my body and intuition has been sending me for over 35 years. I was finally ready after I started connecting deeply with my childhood self through hypnosis with Adrianna Foster. Adrianna came to me at the perfect time, I was ready and willing to take my life back into my hands and I knew hypnosis was going to be my tool. Adrianna and some other positive uplifting people (aka Luly B and a few others) the world brought me this year, I was able to tackle this final step in my healing journey.

Its important to be open and willing to try new things. If your heart is open and your truly want something deep in your soul, the universe will make it work out. I found this course “Love and Above” by Christine Sheldon. The universe is truly an amazing force and sends you those people you truly want in your life. I had speaking with several friends about Sheena, a fabulous hypnotherapist that certifies in Miami. I have been wanting to meet her and boom guess who walks by yesterday, Sheena. I was having a fantastic working dinner with my friend Luly B and surprise, I get a connection with Sheena.

I have learned in this spiritual awakening. That connecting yourself mind, body and soul creates a positive space for you to flourish and grow creatively however you desire. Each individual is different and their spiritual journey will be unique. For some it might be healing physical pain, rashes or other inexplicable symptoms. For others it might be a path to a healthier lifestyle to regain their energy, vitality and vigor. For others it might be to create a new purpose in life. For me my journey took on all of those characteristics. Each path in my holistic transformation had its time and place:

    1) body- reducing chronic pain, fatigue, illness, disease and anxiety by healing my body inside out

    2) mind – creating a connection between mind and body to feel my physical healing and develop techniques to maintain my health achievements. Reconnecting with my body deeply and feeling every change that happened and tackling them head on.

    3) soul – connecting and embracing my inner goddess, intuition and gifts to truly create a path filled with resources to help myself achieve my success. Which paved the way for my purpose in life – to help others achieve the same connection Mind-Body-Soul.

Paving the way with positivity, love and joy – Opens a path for your success. The journey is yours to accept and everything else will fall into place when you are ready to receive it. The resources you need are at your finger tips if you open your mind to the possibilities, believe in yourself and surround yourself with people that boost you up. My purpose in life is set, my future is bright and I am moving mountains. You can do it, I believe in you. Let’s Chat and make it happen in 2019.

    Invisible Illness

The unknown truth about invisible illness is that people live with it everyday and those around them usually have no idea. You might see a girl with a big smile going about her day hiding the pain she is experiencing. Only those close to them truly know and understand their pain. Even loved ones have trouble understanding their pain. There are many conditions that fall into this category and ehlers-danlos syndrome is one of them. This is the syndrome that I have lived with for years and never truly understood until a few years ago when I went to see a geneticist. Some of the symptoms of this syndrome are chronic pain, chronic fatigue, digestive issues, frequent infections and skin problems. I was the poster child for this condition. I had every possible symptom except a heart condition. Thankfully that was the one thing I didn’t manifest even-though I did need to see a cardiologist because I had frequent fainting episodes. The day I decided to see a geneticist I knew that this expansive list of symptoms had to be related somehow and I was right. The sad truth is there is no cure or treatment for it. The most you could do is use natural alternatives, exercise, diet modifications and prescriptions to help control symptoms. I was sick of using prescriptions and had already started incorporating diet changes and natural alternatives to help me feel better. I had reached a point in my life that covering up one symptom with a prescription that caused another problem was not an option. I wanted to get rid of all the prescriptions and I was well underway by the time I saw the geneticist. She told me everything I was doing was perfect. She said to continue my diet and fitness routine, use methods of stress relief and stay hydrated. At this point I was far from healthy but my body was slowly improving day by day. I had lived with pain to the right side of my body for almost 20 years. I remember feeling excruciating pain on my right arm beginning in 8th grade. The pain and symptoms worsened into adulthood. By the time I was 30 my right arm was always numb and in severe pain. By the time I was 35 my right leg was also affected and became numb as well. Any episodes of less physical activity or fitness routine would make all the pain and numbness worse. So I focused on staying active and eating what I thought was right. I was far from truly understanding my body and the foods that were harmful but I had already identified gluten and corn as huge culprits. By the age of 39, I had undergone a bunch of surgeries and I knew that more were eminent if I didn’t find a way to heal my body. Then one day my friend Daisy, who has Multiple Sclerosis another invisible illness came back into my life. She was experiencing some of the same symptoms and had found some relief in recent years. She spoke to me about nutrigenomics and using nutrient rich supplements to impact inflammation in the body. I was absolutely intrigued but I had to research it for myself. I took several months to research oxidative stress and nutrigenomics to see if it was my answer. I also had to research the ingredients to make sure I could take it. You see with all my food sensitivities, I had to be certain before I took the leap. Then one day, I jumped. I was pleasantly surprised that my energy was improving within the first few weeks. My pain pleasantly was down to 5/10 from 8/10 within a few months. After 4 months my numbness was gone and my pain was under control. I started to truly understand my body and the right fitness routine for me. This state of less pain also helped me identify more foods that caused symptoms to arise. I had flare ups and injuries at times but nothing compared to the life of severe pain I used to live. I was finally happy in my own skin and able to enjoy the world. I no longer had to hide behind a fake smile. I had a beautiful real smile that light up the room. I started to spread my story to the world. I am here to tell you invisible illness is real. You can never truly understand it unless you live it. People that live it need compassion and support. If you know someone with an invisible illness, I urge you to share my story with them. A story of hope is always a great thing to share. It is nice to know that you aren’t alone in the world. It is nice to know someone is here to support you if you choose to change your life. I fought back and won. It is a lifelong battle but I am here to support anyone through it with love and guidance.

    Biohack Your Future

Biohacking is the future of healthcare.  Health and wellness is evolving rapidly with a new focus on health prevention and health promotion.  Biohacking incorporates nutrition, fitness and lifestyle modifications to impact quality of life and promote wellness.  Biohacking has become a unique experience as each individual tweaks their lifestyle to develop routines that enhance their own unique bodies.  There is a simple step to make the most intense impact on your genetics using nutrient-rich substances but most people have never even heard of it, much less understand the potential impact it has on their health.  The remarkable phenomenon is nutrigenomics which brings high quality nutrient-rich supplements to the table.  The fact is that not all supplements are created equal.  Many supplements actually cause more damage creating an over flow of nutrients that are harmful to the body.  The biohacking revolution is evolving exponentially with nutrigenomics.  Nutrigenomics provides people with a unique wellness experience.   Nutrigenomics uses naturally occurring phytonutrients, coenzymes and antioxidants to activate pathways in the body that impact genetics.  Nutrigenomics enables the body to create its own antioxidant enzymes to impact stress in every cell of the body.  This enables the body to rejuvenate and repair itself at remarkable rate.   It is so simple and effective that many people feel its like the fountain of youth.  Nutrigenomics continues to evolve and adapt to enhance the biohacking experience enabling biohackers like myself to become the best version of themselves.  It provides vital nutrients to enhance the entire body including internal organs, skin and cells.  There is no other pathway more powerful at anti-aging as the Nrf2 pathway.  Activating this pathway reduces oxidative stress which is the cause of more than 200 diseases.  Oxidative Stress is recognized in the scientific community as the leading cause of disease and aging.  There are more than 93,000 published studies on oxidative stress published in the National Institute of Health Library.  If you are in the medical field, you know the NIH is the library of choice, it is where you want your research article to live.  The fact that oxidative stress is the leading cause of aging is huge.  Let’s make it simple for anyone to understand.  I was 30 years old and felt like a 60 year old.  The stress and tension had accumulated due to poor diet, stress and anxiety creating disease in my body.  My bad genes turned on like a fire, every breathe I took made it worse until I was sick and tired of being sick and tired.

The good genes of energy, vitality and vigor were shut OFF permanently.  Well I used to think it was permanent but it turned out my answer was biohacking.  Let me explain the pain a little further.  Due to the build up of toxins, allergens and free radicals my body was breaking down cell by cell since childhood.  The junk food I ate was filled with additives and toxins that created an exponential impact on my physical body.  I began with fatigue, migraines and pain in my right shoulder.  As the years passed my pains expanded and radiated down the right side of my body.  Eventually my entire right side was numb and tingly.  Now, let me get really simple, imagine a piece of clay that you lay to dry.  The clay shrinks and becomes dry and brittle.  Eventually it loses all its moisture until it cracks and breaks into infinite pieces.  That is what was happening in my body, all my muscles were shrinking and tightening.  The stress and tension was building leading me to illness and eventual death.  Yes, I said it, death.  The fact is if you don’t target the rusting of your body, now, death is the end result.

Fast forward to March of 2018 when everything began to change.  I took a leap, for my health and my family.  My children deserved to have a healthy mom that could love and nurture them.  I deserved to put myself first.  I deserved to advocate for myself and treat myself right, literally.  So, I did, I started to incorporate holistic treatments and nutrigenomics to improve my quality of life.  I was looking to improve all my symptoms of disease and illness but I experienced exponential health benefits from biohacking.  The first thing to return was my energy, I finally didn’t feel exhausted morning, noon and night.  Next, my pain started to dwindle day by day until is disappeared.  Then my numbness and tingling faded away to an oblivion.  I though that my dreams had come true and my prayers were finally answered but the benefits didn’t stop there.  My anxiety also faded away and became less influential in my daily experiences.  The most beneficial and rewarding benefit took me and everyone around me by surprise.  The valuable gift emerged and continues to evolve month by month.  So, what is this gift? I bet you want to know.  Well, its libido and the gift of orgazmik yoga.  It is an intense connection with myself mind, body and soul.  It is a benefit that I never expected but definitely appreciate, every day.  It unveiled a magical experience that continues to evolve into new orgazmik experiences.  This never would have been possible without nutrigenomics, holistic treatments, fitness and nutrition.  My physical stress and inflammation was reduced to a manageable level where holistic treatments, massage and yoga were more effective and sustainable.  My treatments were all more effective (massages, chiropractic care and holistic treatments).  These treatments lasted for longer periods of time with less relapses of pain.  Then I began to learn my body, muscle by muscle, creating a deep emotional and physical connection.  This intense connection can be replicated and duplicated for women that can tap into themselves: mind, body and soul.   If you want to know more about this orgazmik yoga, stay tuned.   Your medical history doesn’t have to be your fate.  Biohacking is the answer.  Nutrigenomics is the tool.  And coaching is the trick that guides you through your health transformation and wellness.  Let me help you pop the bubble of symptoms, disease and illness.  Let’s start your journey together.

    Open the door!!

Do you feel trapped? Trapped in a vicious cycle of anxiety, stress and tension.  Feeling trapped was a huge part of my health journey but I was completely oblivious until now.   The emotional journey began this summer after I had healed the physical pain and symptoms.  The time for emotional healing and reflection was here and I was ready and open for it.  I began my emotional journey with holistic treatments and finally decided on hypnosis.  The hypnosis and transformational regressions helped me identify my feelings and emotions.  These emotions continued to reemerge and my progress would come to a halt.  Now, I realize I had been trapped in a vicious cycle of emotional pain that continuously locked the door to my future.  Little struggles, obstacles, relationships and stress continued to cause me to feel trapped.  I didn’t realize that theses emotional struggles were causing me physical symptoms as well.  It sounds crazy, I know, but its true.  Every time I felt trapped and unable to move forward in my career, a new symptoms would emerge and my progress would stop.  I have experienced many symptoms through this emotional healing journey.  I have felt physical pain, skin eruptions, illness and infections. I didn’t realize the emotional and physical symptoms were all linked together, until I started to reflect and journal.  I noticed some people and situations in life caused me to continue this pattern of disruption and destruction.  I’m sure you have heard this before, connect with people that boost you up and break the bonds with those that don’t.  It is often hard to identify the individuals that are harmful to our happiness and joy.  Trust me it is a lifelong journey to wellness and disconnecting from these people that bring you down is the key.  People that give off negative energy will pass it on to you.  I realized months ago that I feel the pain and stress of others I am close too.  If I have an emotional connection then your physical and emotional pain resonates throughout my body.  It can be a burden and a curse if I don’t break that connection with those that don’t want to be helped.  Absorbing the pain of others is toxic and harmful to my health.  It brings me down and shuts my progress.  Breaking that physical connection and identifying those people that bring be down has been the most difficult part of my journey.  The first step is breaking the connection and the second is tapping back into my positivity.  I had become disconnected from my physical need to unwind, relax and stress.  I had become so stuck in the pain of others that I had forgotten about my own.  I forgot that I am important and I come first.  It isn’t easy to tackle emotional pain and obstacles but I am determined to succeed.  I am finally free of the toxic pain I’ve been holding.  I am here with open arms for those that choose happiness.  I am ready to open the door to my future.  I am ready to help those heal that choose to make themselves the priority.  I am Finally Free…..

    Yeast infections No more

Yeast infections used to be a monthly occurrence for me and it went hand in hand with frequent urinary tract infections.  I would finish one treatment to start a new one a few weeks later.  It was a constant battle to dealing with infections, OTC treatments, prescriptions and little hope for improvement.  The infections were so frequent, I ended up on daily antibiotics to prevent urinary tract infections.  I also had huge sensitivities to feminine products, lubricants, condoms and soaps.  These allergies resulted in frequent skin infections as well.   My infections and treatments were spiraling out of control.  I decided something had to change for my health and symptoms to improve.  These infections disappeared like magic after using Nutrigenomics for 3 months.  Nutrigenomics is the science of using nutrient rich compounds to impact genetic expressions and wellness.  To establish a healthy vagina the body needs to have a healthy balance of good bacteria in the gut and vagina.  A huge part of my treatment was finding a good probiotic that was effective for both vaginal and gut flora.  Before nutrigenomics, I had used a multitude of products with little improvement.  At the time I didn’t realize that not all probiotics are created equal.  Probiotics don’t always have the right bacterial strain for both areas.  Probiotics also have to pass the stomach acid and make it to the intestines to be effective and not all probiotics make it past the acid.  This probiotic was the answer to my prayers, it had an immune component and a special coating to protect it in the gastic acid.  It finally offered a way to combat my weak immune system, weak digestive tract and vaginal flora.  Thankfully, the treatment was very effective, I have been infection free for almost 1 year and a half.  I recently acquired my first infection from using a new vaginal lubricant.  Since, I am so sensitive to latex, vaginal products and lubricants, I knew it was a possibility and tackled it quickly.  I actually was excited that I found an OTC test to check for yeast infections.  The test is a simple way to test your vaginal flora at home.  It contains a small swab to insert into the vagina and test your vaginal flora for bacteria or yeast infections.  If the swab stays yellow you have a yeast infection and using an OTC Monistat product of your choice will treat the problem.  If the swab changes color then you need to see a doctor for further testing and treatment.  My results showed a yeast infection and I chose 1 day Monistat treatment which worked great.  My symptoms resolved quickly and I was back to normal in a few days.  You can also call your doctor for a prescription cream or pill for the yeast infection. Diflucan is an oral medication that kills the yeast with one dose.

Now, let’s tackle yeast infections and find the root cause of the problem.  It seems simple, get an infection use an OTC medication and its over.  But the fact is most women don’t experience only one infection.  Yeast infections are a sign of an underlying medical problem that is lingering in hiding.   Candida can be growing rapidly throughout your body and symptoms can be vague and seem unrelated.

    Some common signs of Candida:

    • Fatigue
    • Cravings for sweets and sugar
    • Brain fog
    • weak immune system (frequent infections)
    • Bad breath
    • Hormone imbalance
    • Frequent UTI (urinary tract infections)
    • Lack of libido
    • Chronic sinus and allergy issues
    • Digestive problems (gas and bloating)
    • White coating on your tongue
    • Joint pain

So let’s talk about the systemic yeast infections a little further.  There can be a bigger health issue at hand when you have frequent yeast infections.  Some health concerns that are related to yeast overgrowth are leaky gut, diabetes, weak immune system and even medications. The list above explains a bunch more symptoms of yeast infections.  Some medications that cause issues are antibiotics, birth control, corticosteroids and cancer treatments.  If you are experiencing multiple symptoms then its time to look at your overall health because systemic yeast can continue to grow and multiply.  Building your immune system with nutrient-rich compounds, probiotics and omega 3 fatty acids will help strengthen the immune system, build gut flora and support your body.  Diet is also a huge factor in yeast infections.  A diet high in sugar and carbohydrates feeds the yeast and allows overgrowth to continue.  So truly combating yeast is complex and the body needs the right nutrition to fight back.  If you simply have vaginal symptoms than keep reading, you might have some sensitivities.  I will write a more thorough article about system yeast soon.

Something that may surprise you about yeast infections.  Safe sex might be giving you yeast infections.  Sounds crazy, I know but I experienced first hand.  If you are a using condoms or lubricants and experiencing yeast or bacterial infections, then stick around.  Speaking from experience with frequent UTIs and yeast infections, vaginal sensitivities could be the culprit.   Vaginal tissue is already very delicate and finicky but add skin sensitivities to the mix and you have a big problem.  Over the years, I had to learn my body, patterns, symptoms and products that caused irritation and flare ups.  I learned that I have an extremely sensitive and allergic vagina.  I experienced tons of yeast infections and UTIs after safe sex practices and learned a lot about my body.  Soaps, lubricants, feminine products (tampons and pads) and condoms are all part of the phenomena.  These products are filled with chemicals, irritants and fillers that can impact vaginal flora and irritate the delicate skin.   Body wash and soaps can cause irritation to the vulva and outer labia when you shower.  If you feel dry, itchy or irritated after a shower, try buying a hypoallergenic feminine wash with out scents.  I have been using Summers Eve feminine wash for more 20 years to avoid this issue.  Now there are store brand options as well with the same ingredients, so use those if you prefer.  Not all lubricants are created equal, it might take several tried to find the right lubricant for your vagina.  If you are not using condoms coconut oil is a great natural option that hydrates the skin.  There are a bunch of water based hypoallergenic options.  Definitely, look at the labels and read ingredients, less is better, so read and compare.  It make take a few tries and repeat infections before you find the right one for you.  I found one lubricant called aloe cadabra that appears to be very pure, no chemicals, additives, hormones or estrogen.  I am trying this one myself to see how it works.  But the battle is not over, trying to find the right condom is also essential.  So now that you have a pure lube, if you continue to develop issues with safe sex practices, then its time to look at the condoms.  First, eliminate latex condoms and try another option.  There are a variety of options out there but remember lamb skin does not protect against STDs, so use only to avoid against pregnancy.  The condoms are also tons of options, so read the boxes and compare to find your best option.  It make also take a few tries before you find one that works for you.  Be patient and learn your body, its okay if you don’t figures it out right away.  I know the infections are uncomfortable and annoying but your health is important and learning your own body is key.   Now, back to feminine products, tampons and maxi pads can also irritate your delicate skin.  I experienced tons of issues with feminine products and learned a lot about my body by testing my options.  Maxi pads and tampons are filled with chemicals to absorb the menstrual blood and stop odor.  These chemicals can irritate the delicate tissue and even cause abscess or infections.  I experienced monthly abscesses and infections with menstruation until I figured this out.  I tried all the top brand maxi pads and experience symptoms requiring frequent antibiotics.  Vaginal abscesses are extremely painful and sometimes require draining by a physician.  Hopefully, you don’t need one because draining an abscess in the vagina can be extremely painful because the skin has a huge blood supply and does not numb effectively for procedures.  Let’s just say, ouch, I hope you don’t need an incision and drainage  in your vaginal labia.  I tried for months, maybe even years to find my answers because there was just no information out there for people like me.  I went from top brand to to organic options and ended up with washable fabric pads.  In my case, I stayed away from tampons completely because there was no way I wanted irritation inside my vagina, it was bad enough to have issues in the labia.  I stayed using fabric washable pads for years and then alternated between those and organic cotton disposable pads.  But I can tell you eventually, i just got sick of the trouble and decided to get an IUD to avoid menstruation completely.  Thankfully, after my hysterectomy, I have one less vaginal issue.

More facts about vaginal sensitivity you might not realize.  Vaginal sensitivity can go beyond the typical products I mentioned before.  It can include exam gloves and foley catheters too.  I am a huge advocate for myself at the doctor and hospital to ensure any product to approach my vagina is absolutely free of latex.  Unfortunately, I learned it the hard way with a severe kidney infection.  After having a c-section for my first son, I got a severe bladder infection that went to my kidneys.  I felt irritation with the foley but didn’t pay much attention.  After the infection, I started thinking and realized the foley was latex.  I learned and started advocating for myself quickly after that day.  I keep an eye on doctors and gloves to make sure they are latex free.  I also ensured the hospital was aware for my second c-section.  So, if you are sensitive to latex condoms, advocate for yourself and make sure your doctor and hospital know, before they come anywhere near your vagina.  The most important thing to remember to to listen to your body, learn your symptoms and advocate for your health.

Simple tips for vaginal yeast infections:

    • warm soaks in bidet or tub to soothe skin
    • keep area dry
    • avoid excess sugar in your diet
    • drink plenty of fluids
    • use a topical cream for the itch
    • take a test before using OTC vaginal treatments
    • avoid irritating soaps

    Preventions is key:

    • wear cotton panties
    • keep area clean and dry
    • wash area with feminine soap and water after sex
    • take off wet bathing suits and put on a dry one
    • pay attention to soaps, lubricants, feminine products and lubricants

    Psoriasis

Psoriasis truly sucks and the unsightly spots impact self-esteem. Flare ups can come out of the blue and target any part of your body. Psoriasis is an autoimmune disease triggered T cells that travel to the skin to attack.  The skin becomes over active and swollen as skin begins to pile up and develop patches of scaly skin.

The common causes of psoriasis are:

    • Poor diet
    • Overactive immune system
    • Emotional stress
    • Poor small intestine permeability
    • Bad protein digestion
    • Genetics
    • Poor liver function
    • Vitamin D deficiency
    • Hormonal changes
    • Increased T cells floating in the bloodstream attacking the dermis and epidermis

Some people develop large patches at joints or scattered patches throughout the body.  There are different types of psoriasis.  Studies show a link between leaky gut and psoriasis.  In my case, I have leaky gut, food allergies, stress and anxiety that impacts my break outs.  Looking at the common causes of psoriasis basically puts my weaknesses to light.  I have 8 of the 10 common causes which means I really need to tackle the problem.  My breakouts have changed over the years.  During periods of extreme stress, like my wedding, I develop patches at my hairline and scalp.  My nails have always been weak and scaly.  I have always gotten scattered tiny red spots around my body.  This past month the quantity of these tiny spots has increased and spread from my head to my toes.  I have spots on my face, neck, chest, back, torso and legs.  The worst breakouts have occurred all over my face.  The patches are red, swollen, itchy and unsightly.  As the days progress my face gets more red, blotchy and swollen.  The patches will worsen if I don’t fight back quickly.  These last few weeks, I have had multiple flare ups and blotchy days.  This week was the worst of all with patches on my nose, forehead, jawline, cheeks and hairline.  It is time for me to fact back fast and hard.  I have reached a point in my life that I refuse to use steroids or prescriptions to tackle my health issues.  My body has enough stress to deal with adding a prescription and side effects is not an option. So I tackle it using holistic health strategies and natural remedies.

Here are the images of my most recent flare up:

    Natural treatments for psoriasis:

    • Hydrate- drink plenty of water
    • Reduce stress- meditation, yoga, stretching, deep breathing and mindfulness
    • Exercise – reduce stress and remove toxins throughout the body
    • Natural topical remedies- essential oils, aloe, avocado oil, tea tree oil and Oregon grape extract.
    • Homeopathic treatments, acupuncture and ayurvedic medicine.
    • Psoriasis diet
    • Salicylic acid

Salicylic acid is a great way to dry up the psoriasis, remove the dead skin and reduce the redness.  I notice huge difference in just a few treatments.  Using essential oils remedies helps soothe and moisturize the skin but the salicylic acid is the most effective treatment I have done.  Salicylic acid is sold in facial soaps, body wash, shampoo and facial peels.  The strength of the acid ranges but they are all effective.  I used 3% shampoo this week, scrubbing all my scaly skin and scalp.  I allowed it to penetrate the scalp and skin for 5 minutes then rinsed.  Since my redness was at extreme heights I reapplied it again.  Using this several times a day helps speed the recovery and remove the scaly skin quickly. I woke up the next day and my face was no longer red and blotchy. I only had light pink patches on my face and neck today.  But my problem is far from over, it’s time to treat the root cause fast.

Tackling the true root cause of the problem with stress reduction, supplementation and diet.  You see if you don’t target the actual cause of the inflammation the problem will continue to flare up.  I realize my diet has been less than ideal lately.  I also have not been compliant with my Omega 3 and probiotic supplements.

Psoriasis diet is important to reduce the inflammation throughout the body.   Leaky gut syndrome causes poorly digested food to travel through the bloodstream throughout the body and attack the skin causing psoriasis to flare.  Leaky gut also can lead to a variety of other health issues like migraine headaches, muscle pain, chronic fatigue, anxiety and depression.  Eliminating inflammatory foods from your diet involves identifying your harmful foods.  Diary has never been my friend, even though I love to eat it.  Dairy causes constipation, gas and psoriasis flare ups.  I am also sensitive to sugar and sweets which it turns out flare up psoriasis as well.  It is essential to avoid foods that trigger symptoms like, fried food, simple sugars, conventional dairy, hydrogenated oils, processed foods and alcohol.

    Psoriasis diet:

    • Probiotic foods – this enhances digestion, removes toxins, boosts the immune system and reduces inflammation. (kombucha, cultured kefir and fermented vegetables)
    • Aloe- soothes the skin and digestive tract to enable healing.
    • High fiber foods – reduce constipation and support healthy digestion to detox the digestive tract. (Fruits, beans, vegetables and seeds)
    • Wild-caught fish
    • High antioxidant foods
    • Zinc – reduces pain and inflammation. (grass-fed beef, lamb, kefir, chickpeas and pumpkin seeds)
    • Vitamin A – essential for skin healing (fruits and vegetables that are orange, yellow and dark green: mango, watermelon, carrots, kale and collard greens)
    • Raw dairy – rich in enzymes and vitamin D (I’m skipping this one)
    • Herbs & spices – provide an anti-inflammatory effect and filled with antioxidants. Pile on the turmeric.

Getting the right balance of nutrients can be hard with just diet alone. Supplementation with high quality supplements enhances healing and promote quicker recovery.

    Supplements to support healing:

    • Fish oil –(1,000-2,000 grams daily) Omega 3 fatty acid with vitamin D3 to reduce inflammation, enhance immune system function and aid skin healing.
    • Hydrochloric acid (1-3 capsules with meals) – aids in protein digestion and reduce flare ups
    • Milk thistle (250 milligrams three times a day) enhances liver detox and reduce cellular growth
    • Probiotics (6 billion daily) enhance digestion by increasing good bacteria in the digestive tract.  The probiotic I use enhances immune function, promotes gut integrity, builds flora and promotes brain gut connection with its unique controlled-release technology.

    Essential oil remedies:

    • Tea tree oil – promotes healthy immune system while cleansing and rejuvenating skin
    • Frankincense oil– rejuvenates skin and reduces blemishes
    • Myrr oil- helps sooth skin, cleansing and promotes youthful skin
    • Cedarwood- relaxing and soothing aroma and promotes healthy clear skin
    • Lavender- promotes calm, relaxation and enhances speedy skin recovery
    • Geranium- calming, stress reduction qualities and promotes healthy skin
    • Roman chamomile- calming and soothing effect on mind, body and skin
    • Thyme- purifies and cleanses skin
    • Bergamot- reduce tension and stress while promoting clear skin
    • Helichyrsum- increases localized blood flow and promotes rapid skin healing.

These essential oils are all safe to use topically without dilution.  Creating blends enhances the benefits by combing a variety of oils with carrier oils.  Coconut oil or avocado oil are great carrier oil options.  They promote skin healing by hydrating skin and reducing inflammation.  Using blends helps facilitate using oils by creating personalized blends that are easy to use quickly and carry with you.  I used avocado oil to create my blend, combining a variety of oils with 15 ml of carrier oil.  I added 5 drops of each oil into the carrier oil.  You can easily combine all of the oils together or use the ones you have on hand.

    My Psoriasis Blend

    Avocado oil – 15 ml

Tea tree oil – 5 drops

    Lavender oil – 5 drops

    Bergamot oil- 5 drops

    Helichyrsum- 5 drops

    Roman chamomile- 5 drops

    Frankincense oil- 5 drops

Psoriasis is an autoimmune condition and will be a life-long struggle but they key is learning your body, trigger foods and strategies to fight back.  The psoriasis diet and supplementation will help keep you on track and reduce symptoms.  Keeping salicylic acid on hand and using peels periodically on psoriasis spots will tackle the problem on the spot. Chronic Fatigue

I remember so vividly the day I decided to take my health into my own hands.  I had just arrived home from a long day at work with the kids.  My husband was away on a business trip and all the responsibility was in my hands.  I was absolutely exhausted, my head was pounding and my body pains were intense.   Moving was impossible because nausea and dizziness accompanied my headache.  I had a debilitating migraine, chronic fatigue and chronic pain.  I felt like I had been hit by a truck.  It was going to be another afternoon where I just laid on the couch unable to do anything.  My children needed me and I wasn’t able to move.  My oldest Gabriel was around 5 and Lucas was 2.  Gabriel spent the afternoon caring for me and his little brother.  I needed time to rest for the stress and symptoms to diminish.  I needed time for my  migraine prescription to take effect.  Gabriel brought me whatever I needed and watched his brother.  He played with him and changed the TV channels to keep him entertained.  They both were so well behaved and worried about me that it was heart breaking.  Lucas came to hug and kiss me periodically and try to get my attention.  It took some time for my migraine pill to take effect and looking at their sweet little faces broke my heart.  I was laying on that couch close to 2 hours.  Eventually, I had to get up and prepare dinner, even-though I was still excruciatingly exhausted.  I managed to feed and bathe them pushing through my exhaustion.  On these extra exhausting days, I would fall asleep with the kids right after dinner.  There was no watching TV or alone time, I was just too drained to stay awake any longer.  As soon as the clothes was prepared for the next day, I would pass out.

I knew that feeling this exhausted and drained everyday was not normal.  The problem was my doctors didn’t always understand or believe it.  They often told me its normal, you are a young mom with a career, it comes with the territory.  They said its normal for you to feel tired and drained.  But they just didn’t grasp the true extent of my extreme exhaustion.   I was exhausted every day all day long and there is no way that is normal.  It didn’t matter if I had slept 7, 8, 9, or 10 hours, I woke up exhausted and spent the day exhausted.  This type of extreme fatigue is nothing like being tired because the baby didn’t let you sleep.  This was beyond sleepless night and new mom exhaustion.  This was beyond fatigue from raising an infant.  This was something much more profound and I was determined to figure it out.  I knew that all my health issues and symptoms were related.  I knew that I had to find an answer.  I knew that I had to advocate for my health.  I knew that I wanted my body back.

What I didn’t know, was that it was going to take me many years of specialists, prescriptions and health struggles to get my answer.  I went to countless doctors ranging from primary care, gastroenterologist, psychologists, pain specialists, neurologists, orthopedists, rheumatologists and geneticists.  I am sure there are more specialists that I missed but the point is after endless years and tons of money on prescriptions and doctor visits, I was still sick.  Eventually, I became “Sick and tired of being Sick and Tired.”  I knew I wanted to be there for my children, enjoy time with them, teach them, play with them and be a fabulous mom.  But the fact was to accomplish that I had to change my health fast because they were growing quickly and I wasn’t getting any better.  The problem was I needed to put myself first to accomplish my goals and I had always put everyone else first.  If I wasn’t a healthy mom then I couldn’t care for my children the way they deserved.  I had spent years focusing on everyone else, my patients, my students, my coworkers, my children, my husband and my family.  This vicious cycle of caring for everyone but myself was ready to spiral if I didn’t take action.  I had hit rock bottom and I needed to climb out of the hole.   It was me now or death.  Sounds strong but true, if health continues to fail, symptoms and prescriptions multiply, then death is eminent.

In 2013, I finally took the leap.  I decided that I needed to be my priority.  I changed my diet by removing foods that were harmful to my body.  I started seeing a homeopathic physician and undergoing IV vitamin infusions, immunoglobulin and treatments.  I also started incorporating fitness into my weekly routine.  I was still fatigued most of the time but my energy levels were starting to change.  I noticed I wasn’t exhausted the entire day.  I slowly felt like my body was coming back.  Of course, the treatments became very expensive and I had to stop.  I continued the diet, supplements and fitness regimen.  I made sure that I had some alone time to relax periodically but my body was still in pain, exhausted and filled with other symptoms.  I spent years trying to wean of prescriptions and tackle things with OTC supplements. I researched and made my own OTC regimen but they really were not working.

I knew that there had to be a better way.  But I just hadn’t figured it out yet.  I knew my body was missing nutrients to enhance my health.  Thankfully, I had a friend that was about to share a revolutionary new concept with me and I was open to learn more.  She told me about her Multiple Sclerosis and the supplement she was taking.  She shared a video that would change my future.  It took me 5 months of research to finally take the leap but I did.  I am thankful everyday for her and finding my way to nutrigenomics.  Nutrigenomics is the science of using nutrient-rich compounds to impact your genetic expressions.  This revolutionary supplement activates a pathway in the body that enable your body to produce its own enzymes to activate your good genes.  It removes toxins, fight free radical damage and supports the body for the daily assault of oxidative stress.  The research showed me that oxidative stress was the leading cause of disease and illness.  It impacts more than 200 diseases and is published in PubMed.  I realized pretty quickly that Nrf2 activation was a good step for me to take.  So, I started and was amazed.  A week after starting Nrf2 and Nrf1 my energy levels were increasing, I was sleeping better and less achy.  I knew it would take time to reverse the damage my body had undergone over these 39+ years, so I was patient.  After 1 month, my energy and sleep continued to improve.  Like anyone, stressful nights with less sleep would make me tired, but I wasn’t exhausted all day long anymore.  Month by month my symptoms kept getting better.  I knew after 3 months, nutrigenomics was going to be a staple in my life.  My health journey, was far from over and healing was still progressing but I was finally on the right path.  Over the next year, I realized autoimmune disease and chronic illness is a lifelong battle.  I learned that tweaking and adjusting diet routines, exercise, yoga, medication and my supplements were essential.  I learned to deal with flare ups and create a plan that worked for me.  I am thankful that I achieved my goals, I reduced my fatigue and pain successfully. It is essential to advocate for your health and remember your health needs to be a priority everyday.  It is also important to find resources and holistic health treatments that enhance your healing throughout your journey.  I still remember the exhausted mom with excruciating pain but I am thankful I don’t have to live that way anymore.  Now, I live my life helping others find their own health and stop the constant struggle.

    Hair loss Sucks!

Hair loss sucks in general wether you are a man or a woman. But there is more of a stigma for woman and it impacts their self-esteem significantly.  My hair loss began 22 years ago and doctors didn’t pay much attention to it.  It took years and countless doctors for someone to finally look a little further and explain what was happening to me.  I knew there was a reason behind my hair loss and it was more than stress.  I had spent years telling doctors it had to be related to my digestive issues, my nutrient absorption had to be part of it.  But they ignored me. I also felt being on birth control since 15 years old had to be a factor.  Nope you are fine, keep taking it.  After each child, the hair loss got worse and worse.  Finally, I found a dermatologist that did a biopsy. She found that my hair was in the resting phase called telogen effluvium, which typically lasts 2-3 months.  For most people 15% of the hair is in the resting phase and 85% in the growing phase.  But people with telogen effluvium there is an imbalance in the hair cycles.  This hair loss occurs due to severe stress and usually resumes hair growth again in 2-3 months.  Of course, for me nothing is simple, I was under chronic stress.  Guess what happens with chronic stress and telogen effluvium, the hair stays in this phase and if it falls out, the follicle dies.  I continued with the same pattern for years. I was using rogaine, topical steroids, scalp injections, etc.  The hair would grow and then I was right back in the resting stage again.  I was sick of using treatments and the need to use them consistently.  I decided to get a virtual consultation by a hair loss specialist that was recommended to me.  I sent my pictures in for his team to review. They recommended a hair transplant and the laser cap, which provides low-level laser therapy to the scalp.  I am not ready for a hair transplant, so I went for the cap.  I’ve been using it for years now.  It has helped my hair slow down the hair loss and promote hair growth but like anything you need to use it.  I go through phases of being really good and then I forget.  Recently, I started using it again because I am back to losing hair again.  There are several types of hair loss but treatments are pretty much the same regardless of the type of hair loss.

Here are some causes of hair loss:
    ? Genetics
    ? Pregnancy
    ? Psoriasis
    ? PCOS
    ? Seborrheic dermatitis
    ? harsh hair treatment
    ? Menopause
    ? Medical problem
    ? Extreme stress
    ? Rapid weight loss
    ? Nutritional deficit
    ? Medications

I made a bunch of changes over the years to fight back against my hair loss.  I cut out birth control and other prescriptions.  I stopped using highlights and harsh treatments.  I also kept my medicine handy for psoriasis and seborrheic dermatitis flare ups.  It is definitely a lifelong battle with hair loss for me.  I have also tried a bunch of haircare products and treatment plans.  I am very excited about a new treatment that is coming out this year in December.  I am going to combine it with the laser cap and see where I go.  The pictures below are of a client with remarkable results. I can’t wait to take pictures of my progress.  I am super excited because I know the products are high quality and contain Nrf2 ingredients.  Nrf2 activation has changed so much of my health already. I am so excited to see what it will do for my hair.  May the biohacking continue…
